The Midnight caller
13th - 15th February
What happens when isolation turns to terror? The Midnight Caller is a spine-tingling one-act thriller that takes audiences deep into the eerie, tension-filled world of late-night solitude. Set in the dimly lit confines of a call centre, the play follows Fiona, a young employee juggling the monotony of the night shift and the growing unease of strange events unfolding around her.
Joined by a cast of vivid characters both onstage and unseen, Fiona becomes the centre of a gripping mystery when a cryptic phone call shakes her world. With each interaction—whether with a concerned friend, a disgruntled client, or a child’s chilling plea—reality begins to blur. Are these conversations harmless coincidences, or is something far more sinister unfolding?
Presented by BlackPen Productions, The Midnight Caller is a haunting exploration of fear, connection, and the unknown. This production delves into the psychological impact of loneliness while building heart-pounding suspense. Under the skilled direction of Giulia Hallworth, the play’s atmospheric staging uses light, shadow, and a dynamic soundscape to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.
