professional
2nd & 3rd february
A brand new one-woman play about dreaming, working, playing, getting out the house and getting through the days in the modern professional world.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
What did you become?
And where… do you see yourself… in five years’ time?
Professional combines theatre, storytelling, improvisation, character comedy and more to face these pesky questions head on. It explores what it means to hope and dream and stay playful in the serious business of work. With burnout and loneliness rife in ‘the real world’, is there room to dream? This show thinks so.
If you’re a dreamer, if you’ve ever wondered what it’s all for, or if the office biscuit tin is the only thing stopping you from leaving it all behind to ‘live off the land’, this show is for you.
Written & performed by Kate Pemberton, who recently graduated from All In Actors in London. She spent 6 years living in Denmark, where she worked as an actor, improviser and voiceover artist. Then she moved to London to follow her dreams and find new ways of telling people that she spent 6 years living in Denmark. ‘Professional’ is her first one woman play, and she’d love you to see it.
