Centre of the Universe Title

Centre of the universe

(a memoir play)

This is the story of a young woman, Mary, who believes she is the centre of the Universe.

Mary has no discernible talent but she can’t just ignore the signs of the Universe. When a talent coach comes to her school, she embarks on a journey. She will reach the top. No matter the cost. This is a poignant and comic exploration of spiritual materialism, ambition and what it means to be significant in a success obsessed society.

“This has never been done before. No person. No woman. No young woman has ever admitted to being the centre of the Universe.”

Parodying the trope of the unhinged, mad woman in the attic, this show comes with a heavy content warning of vulnerability, authenticity, trauma porn, complexity, epiphany, candid human connection, and the present moment.
